Pliant Bodies

Pliant Bodies is a research seminar that examines resilient and materially co-mingled structures. Combining computational design and simulation methods with materials and assemblies research, Pliant Bodies investigates surfaces that operate as a single body, providing structure, enclosure, form, and affect, simultaneously.

In this course we will learn how to model and fabricate complex laminated and woven surface structures using Rhino, Grasshopper, Python, and CNC fabrication equipment. Our final project is a fully-funded installation
